    should - might in past

    Hi,

    -Don't worry, mate! I already knew what I should do.

    Can we use 'should' in this way? If the answer is yes, can we use 'might' in this way too?

    "I knew what I should have done." (without "already") OR "I had already known what I should have done." "Might" would be OK depending on context.

    Knew implies he knew what he should have done at the time. Know implies he now knows what is to be done after the event has past.




    Small change. All I'd recommend.

    Both of these are possible, though they have different meanings.
