    pull ... cladding over

    Is the following sentence acceptable?


    We used a Styrofoam ball to make the puppet head by pulling the sock cladding over it.

    "Cladding" isn't a common word at all. And I'm not sure it adds anything to the sentence. Just say "...pulling the sock over it."
