    hear or have heard?

    I will let you know once I hear/have heard from him.

    Should "hear" or "have heard" be used in the above sentence? If "have heard" should be used, could you let me know the reasons?

    You will hear both and they mean the same thing. In my opinion, the first sounds more natural.

    I'll let you know once I hear from him.
    I'll call you once I'm there.
    He'll contact you once he's in the building.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
