to build housing for my children

If I were financially secure and my childrend needed help from me,could I say "I'm going to build housing for my children" to mean that I'll build houses for my children so they could live with their families?

It would be more natural to say that you are going to build/provide houses for your children. If it were not actually 'houses', then you could say that you were going to provide a roof (over their heads) for your children.
