What does the captioned phrase mean in the above sentence?
It's a saying that is tautological. But there is some wisdom in it as well. The best way to succeed is not to come up with plan for how you are going to convince people that you have succeeded. Actually being successful at something is the best way to convince people that you are successful.
Also, the idea is that present success makes future success more possible. When someone discovers a great new product, people want to invest to make it more successful. It was probably a lot easier to get investment money for the iPhone 5 than it was for the first one.
