Can you give me some examples of down in noun use?

    Hi teachers

I have tried to find exapmples of down in noun use for my research work. I have found one example in dictionaries " The business cycle experienced a down."

Can you give me other examples similar to the example above in meaning? It will be really helpful to make examples as many as possibe.

Thank you very much in advance.

    NOT A TEACHER

Take a look here: down - Definition from Longman English Dictionary Online

Bring a down jacket and a pair of gloves, and you'll be fine.*

In the second quarter, he sprinted up the field 13 yards for a first down.*

Do you really need to use "down" as a noun in this way? Many of your readers would find it quite silly.

I would expect to read that the business cycle was on a down turn, not on a "down."
