    Indirect Speech

    Hi,

What would be the correct option if following sentence is changed into Indirect Speech.

"I shall remain here and he won't be able to find me", said she.

Option 1: She said that she would remain there and he would not be able to find her.
Option 2: She said that she should remain there and he would not be able to find her.

    Thanks.

    Re: Indirect Speech

    NOT A TEACHER

Practical English Usage (Swan): First-person 'shall' and 'should' may be reported as 'would' in indirect speech (because of the change of person).
