    would like for

    I heard "I would like for everyone to help." I'm confused, why is there "for" after "would like"? Can't we say "I would like everyone to help."?

    So you mean there is not any difference between "I'd like for everyone to help." and "I'd like everyone to help."? Is it true for any other example, like: I'd like for my brother to drive me home?

    'I would like for. . .' is informally used in some dialects.

    It's more correct to omit it.
