    Question a light/light

    What is the difference between

    1) Is there a light in the basement?
    2) Is there light in the basement?

    My assumption

    1) Artificial light
    2) Natural light

    Not sure......

    Yes, maybe, but not necessarily.

    Not a teacher.

I would say that a light is the source, and that light is the product.

    Re: a light/light

Pls, take a look at Cambridge Dictionary definitions:
    Light:
[ U ] the brightness that comes from the sun, fire, etc. and from electrical devices, and that allows things to be seen
[ C ] a piece of equipment which produces light, such as a lamp or a light bulb
