pulled / pull out a tooth

    I need your help,

In some dictionaries, I have seen some example like " I need have a tooth pulled." ( not pull out)
But I also read some message on the internet " How to pull out a tooth ?"
I wonder "pull or pull out a tooth", for example
+ The dentist will pull / pull out my tooth because it is too bad to be filled.

Would you please give me the best choice. (one or both of them)

    Thanks a lot.

In British usage, it's always "pull out".
The less time spent "pulling", and the sooner it's "pulled out" the better!

Both are possible, but I would use pull out.
