Code:
Brannigan, 30, of Castleknock, Dublin pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court [U][B]to having[/B][/U] green diesel in his car’s fuel tank on January 10, 2011
The meaning of the sentence can be found comprehensive, but i wonder why the writer used "GERUND" after "TO", i.e. "TO HAVING".
could i write "TO HAVE"?
Thank you so much!

As far as I know, "plead guilty to" can only be followed by either a noun or a gerund.

By the way, could you perhaps use the normal quote feature, instead of that code-thingy? It's a little bit inconventient.

Brannigan, 30, of Castleknock, Dublin pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to having green diesel in his car’s fuel tank on January 10, 2011.

Also, I think it's a good idea to credit the source.
