    which one is better?

hi, which one is better? And is "the money" necessary?

    1. Can I pay (the money) for the hotel when I leave?
    2. Can I pay (the money) when I leave the hotel?

"the money" is not necessary and it will sound better with that dropped.

    Either is good.

Hi! You can use either, but without 'the money'. I would more naturally say, 'Can I pay on leaving?' As usual, their are lots of ways of saying the same thing. Also depends greatly on if you speak British or American English.
