If my friend was getting water from the well and got his pants wet, could I say jocularly to him "Have you been pissing upwind "? Would it work in English?

Not in my opinion.

Would there be an expression to describe that?

You should also know that "pissing" is mildly vulgar. I'd crinkly my nose in mild disgust if I heard you say it.

The word maybe, but the act is pretty essential for most of us... ;-)

... with increasing frequency as old age creeps up on me. :-(

No, my eyes don't close. I just tried to make the face and my eyes didn't even squinch. However, I did draw my head in and away from my imagined speaker.

Ems - it is not nice to make fun of people when they makely the typos!
(Yes that one was on purpose.)

Oh, I wasn't making fun of the typo. I may, however, have been making fun of your crinkly nose. For that I can only apologise especially since I am now under the impression that any light-hearted statements or quips in your country can result in alarming legal consequences!

It would sound very strange.
