Hi,

Are these sentences natural to a native ear?

1. These guys don’t come to (the) work until 10am. (should I use ‘the’?)

2. It is has happened second time this week. I have been here for a year and has never happened to me before this.

3. Whatever happened to plain old hardwork in this business. ( it was a sarcastic remark at the fact that people in my business try to take shortcuts to get success)

Thanks,
MG

2. "This is the second time this has happened this week. I have been here for a year and it had never happened to me before."

In addition to bhai's response, #2 could be stated as "......a second time this week."

I appear to be the first person to have noticed the error at the beginning of #2 (underlined above).
