    words context

I want to show the meaning of some words in examples.
Is there any way to check the contexts in which the words are used?

For example, can I use 'advocate' for 'football' instead of using 'fan'?

    like football advocates!

No, they don't mean the same thing.

    Try these sites:
    BNC
    ANC

If they have a number of examples of the phrase you want to use and look similar to what you want to say, then it's likely that it is used that way. If they don't, then be careful.
