    can anyone give a little explanation concerning the values of BE.
    as a copula, existential, auxiliary and modal. i didn`t find a good explanation anywhere.

    Copula- he's fat (link subject to complement)
    Existential- There's a fly in my soup
    Auxiliary- He's going home (used for the progressive form here)
    Modal- it isn't a modal
