    an out-of-area military operation

But Israel, which never needs an excuse for an out-of-area military operation, as witnessed by its past military adventures in Tunisia, Iraq, the Persian Gulf, and Kenya, will attack based on the flimsiest of reasons.

    Re: an out-of-area military operation

Something that is out-of-area is not in the area. Not nearby. I'm not sure how the author defines the "area" of Israel. It seems to me that the Persian Gulf and Iraq are in Israel's "area" of the world (the Middle East). Tunisia and Kenya are not.
