What does What is it like in something/somewher? Mean?

Could you possibly give me simple answers please? (I am learning English. Thank you.)

For example:
What is it like in Edinburgh?

Nima, you do not need to tell us that you are learning English. We know that you are a learner.

Also, it is important to write correctly in English:

- Start every sentence with a capital letter.
- End every sentence with the correct punctuation mark.
- Always capitalise the word "I" (first person singular).
- Always capitalise the names of languages, countries and cities (England, English, Italian, Edinburgh).

"What is it like in ...?" asks you to give a description of a place. For example "What is it like in Edinburgh?", might give the answer "It is very historical, there are many beautiful buildings, a lot of tourists go there and, in the winter, it is very cold".

So, Nima, what is it like in Iran?
