    Smile What is this expression?

What is this expression: "In the offing"?

I found it on idiomcorner.com under phrases but I think it's more of an idiom... does anybody know what the difference is between idioms and phrases?

Have you looked up the definition of "idiom" and the definition of "phrase"?

Personally, I would call this a phrase, not an idiom.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Welcome to the forums, idiomcorner.

Please note that a better thread title would have been In the offing, as that is what your question is about.

I put my pointer on Reference at the top of the page, clicked on Idioms, and found 'in the offing' HERE.
