Could you help me listen to this?

Austin Peralta released only three solo CDs. But from the age of 16, he played alongside established musicians who *** of him as a peer. Jazz icon Chick Corea, new soul singer Erykah Badu and rising star Frank Ocean, all appreciated how Peralta synthesized jazz with electronica and instrumental hip-pop. Peralta was a son of the independent film director and skateboarder Stacy Peralta best-known for the documentary “Dogtown and Z-Boys.” Austin Peralta was based in Los Angeles but his following included his fans, especially young ones from all over the world.

    Thank you. Michael.

The missing word there is "thought", to form the the phrasal verb "to think of".

If you are having problems identifying a word, try to look at the words around it, and the wider context of the passage. Look at the preposition "of"; are there any phrasal verbs that have "of" at the end that fit the sentence? What does the rest of the text suggest the established musicians did?

Out of interest, what was it about the word that caused you such difficulty? Was it that you were taught English by an English(/Irish)man and the speaker is an American?
