    similar or equal

    My flight was 40 minutes late last Friday and there was a(n) ______ delay this time.
    A. similar B. equal

    I think both answers make sense. Am I right?

    Yes, if you were delayed exactly 40 minutes this time, then it was equal, and if it was somewhere between 30 and 50 minutes, it was a similiar delay.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
