    live out of

Why isn't it "live in a camper van" instead of "live out of"? It sounds they lived outside a camper van.

46)An out-of-work and broke actor once drove to the top of a hill that overlooks Hollywood, the city of stars...There was a time his family was forced from thier home and had to live out of a camper van...Jim Carrey.

    Re: live out of

The point is that you can't really live in a van. You may sleep in one, but you don't really live in one. You live out of it.
