Can i use "commute" if I use my own car

    Hi

Can i use "commute" if I use my own car?
For example "I commute with my own car" meaning travelling between job and home, or is it only used of public transportation?

"We used to write meeting room reservations down to the book, but now we take them down on computer". (is this correct? I guess there might be wrong prepositions?)

    .
1-- You can commute by private car or camel-- any mode of transportation between home and work.

2-- write them down in a/the book, enter them in a/the computer. There are other possibilities, I suppose, but those are what first spring to mind.
