    the words in an ad

    The following is from ad:

To celebrate their new site, M&S is offering Times readers two-for-one on all cards.

What does the underlined part mean?

Does it mean that if I buy two cards, I only pay the price of one card?
Or does it mean that if I pay two cards, I can get a third free card?

    Thanks for your help

It means you buy two and pay for one.

A bit of vocab: this sort of offer is sometimes caled, informally, 'a BOGOF' ('Buy One Get One Free'.)
