Question "I'm lucky if I can tell you how many I found."

    Hello,

What is the exact meaning of this sentence -
"I'm lucky if I can tell you how many I found."

This appears in the ABC news story about the recent school shooting in Connecticut, USA:

Asked how many bullets were fired, Carver said, "
I'm lucky if I can tell you how many I found.
    "

Does it mean he does not know? If so, is it same as "your guess is as good as mine" and "it is anyone's guess"?

    Thank you

I think your interpretation is correct. He is saying that there were so many bullets he could not easily estimate the number.

You don't need to thank us in a separate post, Olympian.
