The second vowels of these words, crazy, baby, katie, lately

    Hello,I am an english learner.
I listend to the song called Bring 'Em Out by Hawk Nelson
In the song the vocalist uses long-a for the second vowels of crazy, baby, katie, lately instead of long-e.

I looked up the words but the dictionaries say kray-zee,bay-bee,kay-tee,layt-lee.
Is this a regional accent or a musical accent?

    Welcome to Using English, BakNoon.

There's often no explanation for how pop singers pronounce words in song lyrics.

He's deliberately mispronouncing words because he feels like doing so and there's nobody to stop him. He probably thinks it sounds cool and will sell more records.

I recommend that you stick to the standard pronunciation.

Songs have special requirements- words have to fit tunes and rhythms, so things can often get changed.

You don't want to sound neutral—you want to sound natural.

    Always capitalise I.
