    A cold in the head

What does "a cold in the head" mean? Is it widely used by native speakes?
If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

Re: A cold in the head

I usually hear "a head cold" or just a "cold."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

These days I hear just "a cold". It's a long time since I heard anyone say "a head cold".
