Hi,
Grammar contrasts 1: 'used to' and 'would' | Onestopenglish
Normally, we can't use the stative verbs such as 'be, have', but I would like to ask that all the stative verbs such as like, know, belong, hate, suppose, contain,..etc. I have tried to construct some sentences with these verbs in 'wish clause and would'. Please correct me if I am wrong.
-When I was a child, I would always know the answers you asked to me.
-When I was a child, I would always taste the cookies you made for the guests.
-I wish they would remember that they're in love with me.
-I wish you would understand it.
-I wish you would know the answer.
-I wish you would love me.
Thanks.
Is it limited with just 'live, be and have' ? All the grammar books and sites give only these 3 verbs.
