Hello again. Could you help me? I can't identify the meaning of the last sentence. What do they mean? Thank you.

She was hardheaded. And beautiful. As stubborn as the hills here were green.

She was hardheaded. Hardheaded is about the same as stubborn. She was stubborn. How stubborn was she? She was as stubborn as the hills were green. The hills were very green (trees, grasses, bushes - all green). She was very stubborn. She was as stubborn as the hills were green. A more common saying of this type is, "He was as mad as a hornet". A hornet (an insect which can sting you) may or may not be mad, but they way they buzz about brings this image to mind.

And about the same stubborn woman:

She straightened up to her full, if less-than-imposing height.

Is her hight really imposing or not imposing at all?

Well...her height is less than imposing. That means that her height is not imposing. This is the same type of structure as three is less than four. I expect that an imposing height would be six feet and a less-than-imposing height might be five feet three inches. The actual numbers are not important, it's the difference between them that is important.
