    the emotion of homesickness

As students in a boarding school, we are likely to come across the emotion of homesickness.

Does the underlined part write naturally? If not, how to put it naturally?

    thanks for your help!

It would be understood without receiving strange looks from the listener, but perhaps a simpler way to express it would be "..............we are likely to experience homesickness".

Or "are likely to feel homesick."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
