    To get upset.

    Hello !

I ask some help to translate in French : 'to get upset'

In my book, three men are preparing for a trip on the river.
One of the three wants to take plenty socks, in case they get upset.
... and a pair of leather boots as well as their boating shoes, as they should want them if they get upset.
He want also take a bottle of whisky, in case, he says, they get upset.

    Thanks !

    Re: To get upset.

It's true that when a boat turns over (capsizes) in the water, we can say that the boat was upset. However, the phrase "to get upset" refers to human beings becoming sad or unhappy. The phrase sounds very unnatural in your three examples. I would use "in case they capsize" or "in case the boat capsizes" in each sentence.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
