In a tennis match the person who picks up or collects the balls is a ball boy / girl. But how about in a football match? What do you call the person who picks up the balls in a fooball match?

Kiwi watcher, please use correct capitalisation and punctuation in your posts. Words being quoted should be contained within quotation marks or be in bold to make them stand out from the rest of the sentence. The first word of every sentence must be capitalised. Do not put a space before a comma or a full stop. An ellipsis (three dots with a space at each end) should be used only where appropriate. There is no punctuation usage involving two full stops.

A lot of tennis commentators call them ball kids, but that only works when they are clearly children.

I think you mean the goalkeeper. We don't have goaltenders in soccer.
