What does ac mean?

If someone writes "bank ac", does it mean bank account? Does everyone use ac as account?

How about acc? What does it mean?

Thanks

In BrE, it's usually abbreviated to "a/c" or similar. That can get confusing because "A/C" (capitalised) means "Air Conditioning" in some countries.

Bank a/c no = Bank account number

Where have you seen the abbreviation "acc"?

So you've never actually seen it used? I wouldn't worry about words or abbreviations that you don't even know exist.

I come across acc when I was looking at what is ac.

In accounting, a/c is often used as an abbreviation for the word account, so I actually wonder if ac (without the /) is the same as a/c

If I saw "Bank ac no", I would assume it meant "Bank account number", even without the slash in "a/c".

In the US, "acc" generally means "accessory". One will, for example, see "acc" above the key switch of an automobile. If the key is turned to "acc" the radio and other electrical items can be used but the engine cannot be started.

I think "acct" would be used for "account" in the US. Certainly not "a/c."

Is it common in your country that "ac" is the short form for "account"?

If I wrote "I have forgotten my user ac.", is it a common way of writing short form for account as "ac"?

It's a common abbreviation but not when writing full sentences. In your example, we would write "I have forgotten my user account details". Note that you can't "forget your account". You might forget your account number, account username, account name, account password, account details etc.

So am I right to say that all English speaking countries understand "ac" as short for "account"?

No. For a start, read post #8 again.

When in doubt, goodstudent, write the word out in full; you don't need to spend several minutes pondering how to save one second — the time it takes to make the few extra keystrokes.

I was going to write short form inside excel. The width space is limited, so I thought if I could shorten the account word to short form.

In the accounting books, a/c means account. Double-entry bookkeeping system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So actually my question is about whether a/c or ac is short form for account in all circumstances.
Since everyone here agree with post 8, I would just take it that a/c is only used in accounting books. a/c or ac is not commonly used in English language as short form for account

Have you read all the posts? And why do you think that everyone agrees with post #8? It's not a case of agreeing with it or not. Post #8 only said that it would not be used as an abbreviation for "account" in AmE. I clearly said that in BrE, it's used a lot, not just in accounting books. If you are looking for an abbreviation that is in normal usage in all English-speaking countries, I don't think you'll find one.
