treatment of (disease) / (patients with disease)

Hi, this is about which you should place after "treatment of", "disease" or "patients with disease".

    1. This drug is used for the treatment of lung cancer.
    2. This drug is used for the treatment of patients with lung cancer.

Are they both correct? Is either one more natural?
    Thank you.

They are both correct and equally natural.
