    Less & lesser

What's the difference between less and lesser? Are they synonyms?

    Re: Less & lesser

What do you understand by each word? Can you use them in a sentence for us? Have you found them listed as synonyms in a thesaurus?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: Less & lesser

I really want to know their usage in the sentences. As for me Less suggests amount;lesser suggests degree.

If I were a native speaker of English, I would never shut up. :-)

Lesser means smaller, as in the lesser of two warriors.
Less means not as much in quantity, on an infinite scale of uncountable matter, as in less sand on your towel than mine.
