1) I messed-up/mixed-up his name with another guy's when I called him.
2) I got his name mixed-up with another guy's name.
3) I will be notified of new messages and the total number of the new messages.


Did I construct the above sentences correctly? Please advice.

1. I mixed up his name with another guy's when I called him. This means I was confused about which guy was which, or who was who.

2. Perfectly constructed, and means the same as 1.

3. It's okay but would be more natural if you omitted the final the.
