What does "as much as" mean in this sentence?
"As much as ..." means "To the same extent that ..." But the actual meaning is not literal. The intention is not to equate the good with the bad. I'd say that it means "At least as much as it does bad things, it also does good things." or "Even though it sometimes does bad things, it does at least as much good things."
