Researchers are visiting Loch Ness next week to see if they can/could find signs of the Loch Monster. i seriously doubt they will/would find anything. if they found something, i am sure they will/would become famous.


I think the answers are 'can, will, would' and wonder if I'm right.

(Actually I'm very confused with the first choice between can and could)

You are correct. You use "can" in the first sentence because it is talking about future possibility.

They'd be extremely lucky to find sings, and you may want to look at your capital letters there. ;-)

Perhaps it's a typo and he's referring to that recording of Nessie by Scottish folklorist Hamish MacGillicuddy "The songs of the Loch Ness Monster".
