    Post undone

Is it correct to say 'It is undone' ? Is there any grammatical explanation of the sentence 'He is gone' ? Is 'gone' here an adjective or a past participle ? Is it a passive voice ?

Well, you can say anything without context. But in context, buttons and zippers can be undone (they are no longer fastened), or a sweater or a rug can come undone (if you pull the thread, they will unravel). A person can also come undone (have a mental breakdown).

Yes, "gone" is an adjective. It means "not here".

"Undone" has got this song stuck in my head, now you can have it too: Weezer - Undone - The Sweater Song with Lyrics - YouTube

    Re: undone

Well I'm reminded of the obsolete line from Victorian melodrama: 'I am undone!'
This means something like 'Everything has gone wrong', often in a sexual way. The punning undone = 'unfastened' prompted some predictable stage business.
