    Transitive...

    The report claimed that the rogue nation was stocking up nuclear weapons.

    In the above sentence, is "claimed" a "transitive" verb? I don't see any direct object of "claimed".

    The direct object is the clause starting with 'that' and ending with 'weapons'.
