Is the following sentence correct- "In some ways, as human-beings are developing, animals are looking in a better position than them"?

Thanks.

There is no hyphen in "human beings".

Thanks! What about "...are looking in a better position than them"? Is it correct?

I prefer "... are looking to be in a better position than them."

I have written somewhere- "...animals are looking in a better position than them". Is that wrong?

Thanks.

I don't know what it's supposed to mean, but I can't say it's wrong.

What do you mean by "I have written somewhere ...". Yes, you've written it twice. In the first post and in post #5. My answer remains the same: I prefer "animals are looking to be in a better position than them".

I'm also not entirely clear on the meaning. I assume you mean that the more human beings "develop", the more unpleasant a race we seem to be and it appears that animals are now looking like they have the higher ground evolutionally, and even perhaps morally and ethically. I could be reading far too much into it though!
