    to that effect

Teacher, did I use "to that effect" correctly?

Ms. XXX told the Manager that her doctor said she is not able to work for 2 months due to her surgery. Her Manager then asked her to get a medical letter from her doctor to that effect.

Yes, "to that effect" is fine. Note that we don't capitalise "manager" when we are not talking about a specific job title. Here, "her manager" just means "her direct boss". In BrE, it would be a "medical certificate" or "doctor's certificate", not "letter".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
