If I count 5 apples in a basket I would say

1) "One, another, a third, a fourth and the other".

I wonder I am right.

Also I want to know how can I count apples (or whatever) not in a basket.

I mean, if there are a lot of apples on the floor and I'm going to five of them out into a box,

how can I count them? Is it same as sentence 1?

I would just say, “One, two, three, four, five.”
