Red face Sentence beginning with JUST

    Is this sentence correct grammatically?

Just their steps could be heard for a while.

    Context:
Narrator: They (a man and a woman) were walking towards the bus station at night. Just their steps could be heard for a while.

    Yes, it's grammatical.

    Re: Sentence beginning with JUST

I would prefer "Only their steps ..." but "Just" is OK too.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
