    Synthesis of sentences

    Everyone thought Tina was the culprit. She was innocent.
    Despite being innocent, everyone thought Tina was the culprit.

    Is the above sentence correct in joining the sentences in bold?

    It's one way of joining them, yes.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
