    Every Friday night

Please, would you take a look at this sentence and correct my mistakes:

Every Friday night he would light the candles and put them beside the picture of his wife who had been banned from travel.

I am not sure if the correct words are "....who had been banned" or it should be "...was banned"?

"... who had been banned ..." is fine, but the final word should be "travelling". I would also add a comma after "wife". If you don't, it looks as if he has more than one wife and he is just specifying the one who had been banned from travelling.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
