    "which" vs. ", which" vs. "that"

    Contrary to what a closed topic said, I believe "which" without a comma is appropriate when the added information is not incidental to the writer's thought, even if it doesn't designate which thing is being talked about. The designating job is for "that". Otherwise, I can see no difference between "which" and "that".
