    Sit right

You see, as much as I want to screw with my nephew, your using me to do it just didn't sit right
The sentence is excerped from Gossip Girl, an American TV drama.

Is it same if I say "it just isn't right" ?

Does sit right mean appropriate? Is it okay if I say it doesn't sit right to take my book without my permission?

    Thanks!
