What does "product endorsements" mean here? Is it related to the display in the fair?
p3)On May 28, 1934, Elzire Dionne gave birth to five daughters who became famous as the Dionne quintuplets...they agreed to put their five daughters on display at the Chicago World's Fair...But after Dafoe took control of the girls' lives, he made himself rich by displaying the quintuplets to tourists and collecting fees for product endorsements.
According to the link, it seems to be related to a product's promotion by celebrities, but I still can't get what happened in the display. Did they make some celebrity appear in the display of the quintuplets?
The quins were famous. They were the celebrities. They endorsed certain products and Dafoe collected the fees.
