    Talking 31-they sat him down

    Dear all

What does it mean when they say?

    They sat him down.

Is there any force in this action? Or is it just asking him? And where is it used?

    Thanks a million

There could be force, but pressure/asking strongly would be enough.

example: They sat him down and gently explained that his wife was dead.

used to break bad news, to console, anything where the outcome is not good.
